The Parthenon, Nashville TN
The Parthenon in Centennial Park was built for Tennessee’ 1897 Centennial Exposition. Nashville was known as the “Athens of the South.”
Both the building and gold clad 42′ statue of Athena inside, are built to exact proportions of Athenian originals. The building also serves as the City of Nashville’s art museum.
I have hand crafted a ceramic replica of the Parthenon. Each original plaque is created by me, hand glazed and kiln fired twice. The approx. 6″ X 8″ wall hanging piece is signed and numbered .
